I am a Judge at the General Court of the European Union and endowed professor of Digitalisation and EU Law at the Maastricht University. Prior to my judicial appointment, I was an Associate Professor of European Union Law at the Faculty of Law of Maastricht University (The Netherlands), where I taught various courses on EU law and conducted research in the field of EU law. After obtaining my doctoral degree at the Faculty of Law of University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), I worked for several years as a legal advisor at the Court of Justice of the EU. In July 2021, I returned to the General court of the EU as a judge. The focus of my current research is the interplay between EU fundamental rights and technology. I have been interested in European law from my student years and have received the award ‘Young Lawyer of the Year’ from the Association of Lawyers of Slovenia in 2007. I am fluent in Slovenian, English, French, German, Dutch and Croatian.
